NIMIA
She walked through the courtyard, through a hedge-alley. The hedges came up to her waist and so as she walked her hand hovered often the shrub. Occasionally a leaf would brush against her hand and she would stop, resting her hand gently against the plant and just feeling the leaves against her skin. The interaction with the plant, the stopping and feeling, which would only last a fraction of a second before she continued walking. Of course this continued until the hedge came to an end and a circular dead-end with a fountain in the middle and a round bench surrounding the fountain. The fountain depicted one of the so-called dragons, water flowing from its mouth and plopping down into the basin that most of its body (and by body, tail is meant) formed. Without thinking much about it she sat down on the bench and let a hand feel the water. She pulled it back quickly and bit her lip to stop herself laughing at herself. Of course the water would be cold, it was rather early in the morning and the sun hadn’t had time to warm it.
She hummed softly to herself as she watched the water flow out the dragon’s mouth and down its body. It was covered in intricate scales made of stone that she was tempted to touch but that would put her precariously close to falling into the cold water. The getting wet part didn’t bother her much, it was the coldness. It wasn't that she disliked the cold, she cared for it just as much as she cared for the heat. It was just that she was content and didn't want to be bothered with having to go and change clothes although a warm shower sounded rather pleasant.
She lay down on the bench, she was wearing a simple shirt with pants that reached her ankles. When she walked the pants looked as if they were a skirt. They were one of her favorite pairs. The shirt left her shoulders bare and she shivered as her shoulders touched the cold concrete. She lay there for a few seconds, focusing on not squirming away from the cold and her skin filling with little goosebumps. Soon she became used to the cold and she stared up at the sky. Drawing pictures with the clouds.
