WELCOME TO THE ACADEMY } a schoolwide drill

Through whispers and worries she had heard of the drill, of course she hadn’t attended the meeting this morning. She hadn’t felt like getting out of bed, never mind attending something that she would hear about a bit later. Eavesdropping was much more fun than actually attending these events that passed out information as if it was deserved. No finding it out in the terms of whispers and worries was so much more fun. She walked silently through the hallways, listening to the various conversations and making mental notes. She would be well prepared with information by the time the drill came around. Most of the time while doing this she appeared to be indifferent which in a way was what she was. She didn’t care that students would be maimed and hurt; she didn’t care that the academy would dissolve into chaos by the end of the day. Whether post or pre-battle chaos she wasn’t particularly worried. Her plan was to stand in a dark corner somewhere and watch the on goings. Of course she had already retrieved her Katanas and they were hanging on their respective sides of her hips by the time lunch time rolled around.

She ate lightly and slowly, she was still listening to everyone. All at once the noise seemed rather overwhelming but she had learned how to isolate the conversation she wanted and to concentrate on it. This wasn’t magic, it was simply practice. The mess hall emptied slowly until she was the only one sitting there, a half-eaten sandwich on the plate in front of her. She heard one of the staff approaching and before they reached her she stood up and walked off. She was once again wearing the pants that looked like a skirt as well as a longish shirt with long sleeves. The shirt clung to her body which allowed for easy movement. The pants were black as night while her shirt was a royal purple. Her katanas were the polar opposite of each other. One black as night and the other white as snow, of course this was just the outsides.

The headmaster’s voice echoed through the academy just as she exited the mess hall and with an inward sigh she stopped in the doorway, staring at the chaos that was about to unfold. She supposed she should have expected it, it was a logical time to launch an attack. With a shake of her head she slunk along the walls until she found herself sitting on a pedestal in the shadow of a statue in the courtyard. She watched the various mistlings roaming around, not at all tempted to attack. She was the ‘kill-outta-the-shadows’ kinda gal of course. There weren’t any too close anyways so watching was what she was left with. They would sense her had they being close she supposed as well. No watching was much more relaxing.
