Ade followed Amadeus, hurdling across the gap and staggering forwards with relief. She maintained a particularly large space, accelerating far too early and landing especially late nearly every time.
Yeah, she had difficulty judging distance.
She finally approached the crouched Amadeus, prowling over the edge and glancing at the men.
One simply radiated with anxiety, a grin lacing her face. He was the odd man out.
"I don't know if you can tell, but one of our negotiators is in one of those gangs."
"Think I caught on." She whispered. The arrogant negotiator mouthed something to the other, which only caused his anxiety to escalate out of proportion. She snickered; how could these feeble group of hagglers be even remotely threatening? Were they completely oblivious to the true horrors that stood literally inches beyond the walls?
She ran her hands over her pocket, a pang of excitement coursing through her as she felt her small dagger pushed against her thigh. It was barely larger than an arrowhead, but it was the best she could do. A professor had insisted that she take her belt back to her dorm earlier this morning, but luckily they didn't scope her pockets for sharp objects.
"What would happen if we snagged the goods, managed to get them on the enemy side's, and made it look like the other negotiator's fault?"
Her smirk broadened. "Heh. I like the way you think." She said, scanning the alley for an obscured opening. She pointed to a nearby dumpster, conveniently located near the street.
Perhaps they should revert to the ground. After all, you couldn't take action if you were stuck in the trees.
