"Hello, class."
Acacia was looking decidedly more comfortable after a week in her role as teaching. Her white blazer was unbuttoned that day, displaying the fitted black tank top beneath. Her hip was cocked slightly to the side, leaning against the wooden desk at the front of the room.
The desk was sparsely decorated, with only a few stacks of paper, a metal quill, a few crude sketches of a longbow, and a framed picture.
The picture was easily described: Acacia in her teenage years, and her mother. The two looked nearly identical- Long black hair, soft blue eyes, a delicate facial structure.
However, it would have surprised any student that looked more closely at the picture.
Acacia was wearing a gown of heavy silk, her body covered from the neck-down in a formal dress of rich red. A fan sat folded in her lap, edged with lace, and her expression was bright with happiness and laughter. Her mother, by contrast, wore a dark gold gown, her expression full of steely love, lips in a stern frown. Her hand rested on Acacia's shoulder.
"Today is the day you have all been waiting for- We will actually be going outside!" She clapped once, a loud, sharp noise in the relatively quiet air. Her smile was relaxed, expectant. "Some of you will be lucky enough to actually even touch a recurve bow today."
Expectant eyes shifted about the room, searching for response, any light of excitement or apprehension.
